Overview of GPAT 2026: Dates, Eligibility & Tips

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2026 is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission into M.Pharm (Master of Pharmacy) programs in India. The exam is held in computer-based mode (CBT) and tests a candidate’s knowledge of undergraduate pharmacy subjects.


GPAT 2026 Important Dates

  • Notification Release: December 2025

  • Online Application Start Date: 23 December 2025

  • Last Date to Apply: 12 January 2026

  • Application Correction Window: 16–19 January 2026

  • Admit Card Release: 2–3 March 2026

  • GPAT 2026 Exam Date: 7 March 2026

  • Result Declaration: 7 April 2026

Eligibility Criteria for GPAT 2026

  • Educational Qualification:
    Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized university.
    Final-year B.Pharm students are also eligible to apply.

  • Nationality:
    Only Indian citizens can apply.

  • Age Limit:
    There is no age limit for GPAT 2026.

  • Not Eligible:
    Candidates with B.Tech/B.E. in Pharmaceutical or Chemical Technology are not eligible.


GPAT 2026 Exam Pattern (Brief)

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test

  • Duration: 3 Hours

  • Total Questions: 125 MCQs

  • Total Marks: 500

  • Language: English

  • Marking Scheme:
    +4 marks for correct answer
    −1 mark for incorrect answer


Preparation Tips for GPAT 2026

  • Understand the complete GPAT syllabus before starting preparation.

  • Focus on core subjects such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutical Analysis.

  • Make a simple and realistic study timetable and follow it consistently.

GPAT 2026 Admit Card

How to download the GPAT 2026 Admit Card?

  • Visit the official website: gpat.nta.nic.in

  • Click on “Download Admit Card – GPAT 2026”

  • Enter Application Number, Date of Birth/Password, and Security PIN

  • Click Submit

  • Admit card will appear on the screen

  • Download the PDF

  • Take 2–3 printouts

  • Verify all details (Name, DOB, Roll No., Exam Centre, Timing, etc.)

  • If any discrepancy is found, contact NTA Helpdesk

GPAT 2026 Admit Card

 The GPAT 2026 Admit Card is a mandatory document required to appear for the exam. It will be issued by the National Board of Examinations (NBE/NBEMS) a few days before the examination date. Candidates must download it from the official GPAT portal using their Application Number and Date of Birth (or Password).

Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre. Along with the admit card, students must also carry a valid government-issued photo ID proof.

What is GPAT Entrance Exam ?

The GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for admission to M.Pharm and other postgraduate pharmacy programs offered by participating colleges and universities across India.

It is one of the most important and competitive pharmacy entrance exams in the country, held annually for students seeking admission to top pharmacy institutions for the upcoming academic session.
